If I'd grown up on a farm and was retarded, Bruges might impress me, but I didn't, so it doesn't.

Friday night w/ Matt @ the flicks:

For once I paid out £5.50 and didn't feel horrendously cheated. The screen was puny, but hardly anyone was in there with us; even so we could still hear other people laughing around us when the protagonist's came out with brilliantly penned lines. All I'd checked was who was the cast and the three line plot synopsis on the cinema website, though don't go expecting anything other than for the film to be wildly imaginative and playful with the concept of genre; it will not be what the synopsis says because the film is way more.

Two hit-men hiding out in Bruges after a job gone wrong. Nothing to get excited about. Chuck in that they are Irish, not to mention Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, a racist midget, gorgeous cocaine dealing Belgians and a few fucking inanimate objects and what you got in the pot doesn't look so bad. However small the screen was last night, I was in there.

Long story short, take a mate to the cinema tonight and catch a late night viewing with an posh pint afters. Not a night to miss I can assure you. If the worst comes to worst it's going to be joining my DVD collection as soon as it hits the shelves; nights in large numbers, another small screen and just as much excitement.

In Bruge: bloody fucking brilliant.

NB: Amazon kindly delivered Tank Girl Volume 1 at my door yesterday morning, + Rage Against The Machine & My Loose Thread, best order yet. KRUNK
